St. Joseph Needs Your Help – Important Information and Important dates
As mentioned in the handbook, we have two masses where we need all the students of St. Joseph’s Catholic School to attend in uniform.
|
This blocked section can be found on page 7 of the handbook just below service hours. All of you have signed that you received the handbook. Two Sundays a year – The Sunday starting Catholic Schools
Week and the Sunday ending Catholic Schools Week we require families/students,
in uniforms, to attend these Sunday Masses as follows: The exposure of our families and students at these Masses will
allow the community to see our students first hand. So many of these parishioners
support the CTODP Scholarship Funding, which in turn provides tuition
assistance to your child to attend ST. Joseph’s. |
This is an important obligation as our scholarship dollars are tied to CTODP. Our scholarship dollars mainly come from St. John Vianney and Immaculate Conception Parishes in the form of tax credit contributions.
We need to do everything possible to insure our funding, and your child’s scholarship for next year, are not in trouble. It is difficult to estimate where the campaign truly stands at this time. The deadline for contributions this year will end April 15th , instead of December 31st as it has been in the past. As of January 1st, our CTODP funds are half of the amount from the previous year. With increased enrollment it is vital we increase these funds. Many individuals are waiting to see what their tax obligation is before contributing.
Every family needs to look at their tax form and give their dollars to CTODP rather than the state. You are only loaning the money until your refund is made: you simply pay less to the state. Please educate family members, friends, coworkers and employers about CTODP; you would be surprised how many people are not aware of this program. If they are aware and contribute to CTODP your family will benefit. If you have any questions concerning the CTODP Campaign please contact Russell Moker at 300-5992. Don’t wait, call now and find out how you, or someone you know, can help educate St. Joseph’s students.
Catholic Schools Week is a wonderful way to let our community know that we are part of their community. It is a way to have the presence of our school and our students revealed to the community. It is also a week of fun for our students.
On January 30th we need every student to attend the 9:00AM mass at Immaculate
Conception in uniform. They will be sitting with their teachers and other classmates.
We will also have seating reserved for parents in a different location. After
the mass we will have an open house for the students and parents. We invite
all of you to come to our open house barbecue. Mr. Kirkham is the chef and the
event will be free. So we will count on seeing all of you at mass and then back
at the school for great food, games and activities at 10:30AM.
