At St.Joseph’s School I can see how important it is to have a mission statement. A mission statement is like a map that guides you when you go on a trip. It gives you directions to find your way. Our mission statement says that Saint Joseph’s Catholic School will teach students to act like Jesus and try to follow his examples. At our school we pray together, learn about God and we even go to mass every Friday!
Sometimes when we are on the playground we might get into fights. Mr. Kirkham our principal always comes to our rescue and helps us work out our problems. He teaches us about making better choices and about love and forgiveness.
At St. Joseph’s School our class sizes are small which means that the teachers can spend more time with each student instead of forty children in a classroom yelling and screaming for help on their paper. St. Joseph’s School has great teachers who prepare us to learn and be responsible for ourselves. My teacher Mrs. Green is very nice and patient with us. She explains things when we don’t understand and she never yells at us. If you’re smart enough to move up in a subject you can move to a higher grade or you can get extra help if you need that too.
Our school prepares us to be good leaders in the future. For example we are having food and clothing drives where we bring in canned food or sweaters to donate to others in need. We also have special “no uniform” days at school where we donate one dollar and then we don’t have to wear our uniform. We donate half of this money to the House of Ruth and they help pregnant women so they won’t have an abortion. We even help other countries like Mexico. For example we make the Mexican children poppers for Christmas. If you don’t know what poppers are, they are recycled toilet paper rolls that we fill with all different kinds of candy and then we wrap them up with wrapping paper, twist the ends and tie them with string.
I feel comfortable and loved at St. Joseph’s School. I wish every kid could go to this school!!!!
